I operate from the premise that ideas expressed creatively can explore and renew our connections with the world around us. I use symbols and imagery in my sculpture to go beyond the rational conscious mind into the realm where soul memories reside. To convey my concepts I use a variety of different materials, with a focus on form and surface decoration.

My graduate work is inspired by Dennis Klocek, an Anthroposophist (Spiritual Sciences), who relates medieval alchemical formulas and symbols to human body processes (physical, temperamental & spiritual). Klocek interprets fairytales in this light whereby the unconscious meaning becomes externalised and comprehensible through the characters and events.

The essence of my understanding of these mysteries I have attempted to translate into visual forms. The series is based upon the analysis of four fairytales; Hansel and Grethel, The Fisherman and his Wife, The Spider and the Flea and Rumpelstiltskin. It is an awfully big adventure.
